Clean Break

“Having used every subterfuge
To shake you, lie, fatigue, even that of passion.
Now I see no way but a clean break
I add that I am willing to bear the guilt.”

Probably my favorite poem, ever! I just want to break away, don’t want to try and make things work. Sometimes the best thing to do is just leave.

For some reason this poem reminded me of the African proverb that says “Owok nte iteminun.” = “He swims like a basket of salt.” Generally said of one who cannot swim…like a soon-to-be exlover who can’t get the message.

Hey man I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to write something worth my time to read. I am all over the internet and I see so much useless junk that is just written for the sake of putting something new on their page. It takes passion to make good stuff, thanks for caring.
